In this comprehensive Bitmap Books review, we will dive into the quality, content, customer experience, and whether these coffee-table books are worth your investment.

What is Bitmap Books?

Bitmap Books is an independent UK-based publisher dedicated to creating high-quality, officially licensed, and fan-favourite books about video game history.

Their catalog covers a wide range of nostalgic topics, including:

• Visual Compendiums: In-depth visual histories of classic systems like the SNES, NES, Commodore 64, and Atari.

• Art Books & Guides: Detailed art retrospectives, RPG guidebooks, and pixel art collections.

• Niche Gaming History: Books focused on specific genres, beat 'em ups, point-and-click adventures, and legendary game studios.

Key Features: Why Bitmap Books Stand Out

1. Unmatched Print & Binding Quality

One of the first things you notice upon receiving a book from Bitmap Books is the exceptional build quality.

• Hardcover Finish: Heavyweight paper with vibrant metallic foils and spot UV finishes on the covers.

• Thread-Sewn Binding: Books lay completely flat when opened, allowing you to appreciate double-page pixel art spreads without losing details in the gutter.

• Special Extras: Many titles include bookmark ribbons, custom slipcases, and glowing metallic inks.

2. Stunning Visuals and Pixel Art Preservation

Bitmap Books works directly with iconic pixel artists, game developers, and collectors. Every screenshot and piece of artwork is carefully captured and color-corrected, making retro graphics pop off the page better than they ever did on CRT monitors.

3. Engaging Nostalgic Content & Unseen Interviews

These are not just picture books. They are packed with:

• Exclusive interviews with legendary industry designers and programmers.

• Rare concept art and behind-the-scenes trivia.

• Detailed game reviews and historical context.

Order fulfillment is a critical factor for online shoppers, and Bitmap Books excels in this area:

• Bulletproof Packaging: Books are wrapped in protective foam and shipped in sturdy custom cardboard boxes to prevent corner damage during transit.

• Worldwide Shipping: Fast international delivery options with reliable tracking provided.

• Customer Support: Responsive customer service ready to assist with order tracking or replacement inquiries.
